The Seatool C40D housing brings out the underwater performance from the EOS 40D, Canon's compact yet full featured DSLR with 10.1 megapixels, DIGIC III image processor, 9 cross-type sensor AF system and 6.5 fps high speed imaging. The C40D realizes Seatool's cutting edge processing technologies with housing walls machined to optimum thinness, for the lightest, most compact yet durable aluminum body possible. The light weight and compact size are great and help everything from airline baggage restrictions to easier water entries. But from the beginning concept, Seatool housings are designed with priority on optimum underwater handling and usability. Excellent ergonomics enable one-handed operation with secure right hand fit, sensitive half-shutter press and light, nimble zoom & focus dials.

Perfect half-shutter sensitivity

Superb underwater half-shutter press sensitivity with shutter lever design based on human ergonomics. Also, access Main Dial and LCD illumination controls without changing hand position.

Thumb actuated dial / buttons

To enable your intended exposure and focus, actuate Quick Control Dial, AE Lock and AF Point Selection controls with your thumb, all while simultaneously holding shutter position.

Macro with internal pop-up strobe

A Macro Flash Adapter diffuser panel is included for macro imaging using the camera's internal strobe. With included mask, easily converts to handle fiber optic cables for external strobes.

Just 170g underwater weight

With camera and 60mm lens installed, amazingly light 170g(6oz.) underwater weight, for excellent underwater balance and easy one-handed operation. Possible to grip and operate housing with just your right hand.

One-touch camera setting / removal

Newly developed port and camera tray system enable one-touch installation and removal of camera without removing port, lens or gear. Also possible to change media without removing camera from housing. Lens can also be removed from port opening.

Compact arm configurations possible

Body has integral accessory shoe and two mounting points for optional Ultralite Ball Adapters, so arm can be attached directly to housing, without need for separate tray and grips, resulting in a smaller total package.
